Notes on the purchase of power sockets

Apr 30, 2022

First, choose a channel

Consumers should not be greedy for cheap when buying power sockets. It is best to buy them at regular large-scale chain supermarkets, hypermarkets or electrical stores and other business places, and keep the shopping vouchers.

Second, look at the appearance

The style and color of the switch should match the overall style of the room. For example, if the overall tone of the interior decoration is light, dark switches such as black and brown should not be used. And the manufacturer and product information on the packaging of qualified sockets are complete, while some unqualified sockets are poorly packaged, lacking the most basic manufacturer and product information, especially the production date on the product packaging, and many inferior sockets are not marked on the product packaging. This is often a substandard socket. In addition, the qualified socket shell panel has fine workmanship, there is no burr on the shell and the edge of the socket, the socket size is symmetrical and uniform, and the poor quality socket shell has rough workmanship.

Third, look at the feel

It can be distinguished from four aspects: weighing the weight, pressing the switch repeatedly, testing the insertion force, and pulling the power cord:

1. Weighing the weight: The sockets that meet the national standard use many copper wires, thick copper sheets, and tight plastic shells, so the weight is heavy, and the unqualified sockets will obviously feel much lighter by cutting corners.

2. Press the switch repeatedly: You can try to press the socket switch several times. The qualified socket can be opened and closed freely and the sound is crisp; the unqualified socket will feel stiff and easy to get stuck.

3. Test plugging force: The qualified socket not only has a moderate and flexible plug-in feel of each hole, but also has the same plug-in and pull-out feel of each jack; the plug-in force of the unqualified socket is too loose or too tight, and the elasticity is poor and easy to loosen. , each hole can also obviously feel different.

4. Pull the power cord: The power cord of the qualified socket feels soft and hard, and the connection with the socket is solid and reliable;

Fourth, look at the brand

Encourage everyone to choose well-known brands. Because the quality of the switch is related to the normal use of electrical appliances, and even the convenience of life. In the interview, many dealers expressed the same view, that is, the switches or sockets produced by many small manufacturers are very unreliable and do not take long at all, and it is obviously very troublesome to replace them frequently.

Fifth, look at the service

As far as possible, go to the store or point of sale designated by the regular manufacturer to buy, and ask for the shopping invoice, so as to ensure that you can enjoy the after-sales service in the future.

Sixth, look at the logo

Pay attention to the signs on the base of switches and sockets: including Great Wall certification (ccee), rated current and voltage.

Seventh, look at the standard

It is produced according to GB2099.3-2008 standard. On June 1, 2010, the relevant state departments issued a new national standard and began to enforce it, explicitly prohibiting the production of universal sockets. The new national standard requires the production of a socket with a separate combination of two-pole and three-pole jacks (commonly known as the new five-hole socket).
